Everywhere we go, there’s someone who is affected by it… Almost 1 in 8 of every women to be exact! Now that October is here, how will you spread awareness for Breast Cancer Month? Memphis and surrounding communities have a calendar full of things you can get into this month. One in particular to look out for is the annual “Race For The Cure” in town. TheĀ  event is the largest in the Mid-South area, to promote awareness and raise the most for breast cancer. The 5K race and 1 mile run is scheduled for October 29th, 2011 at 8am. The race will begin at The Shops of Saddle Creek on W Farmington Blvd.

Interested residents can register individually or as a team; walk for fun, or be timed to receive an award at the end of the race. Registration goes as follows: $30 for timed entrants, $25 for nontimed and $10 for children.

If you can’t make the race, they’re two more ways to get involved:

  • Attend the preview party for the Race; pre-register (if you can make it), enjoy a fun silent auction, food and drinks: October 18th, from 6-9PM.
  • You can still register and donate, to receive a race t-shirt for the cause.
